An adjusting wedge (7) is arranged in a movable manner approximately parallel to the camshaft axis (10) either directly or indirectly between cam (3) and valve (13), and is pushed against the cylindrical or conical cam (3) by an adjusting spring (11). The flanks (4) and tips (5) of the cam have fine tangential grooves (6) which arrangement prevents displacement of the adjusting wedge (7), which is provided with corresponding grooves (6'), during operation of the valve. In the case of an adjusting wedge (7) that is not self-locking, the valve play is adjusted automatically in both directions by means of the spring forces (7<*>) or (13<*>) in the region of the cam outline (2) where there are no grooves. Furthermore, the present valve gear, or another valve gear, comprises a device for adjusting the valve times and the valve movement together with extremely simple cylinder heads that are matched to them. <IMAGE>

Mittelbar oder unmittelbar zwischen Nocken (3) und Ventil (13) ist ein Stellkeil (7) etwa parallel zur Nockenwellenachse (10) verschiebbar angeordnet und wird durch eine Stellfeder (11) gegen den zylindrischen oder konischen Nocken (3) angestellt wird. Die Nockenflanken (4) und die Nockenspitze (5) weisen feine tangentiale Rillen (6) auf, was ein Ausweichen des mit entsprechenden Rillen (6') versehenen Stellkeils (7) während der Ventilbetätigung verhindert. Das Einstellen des Ventilspiels erfolgt bei nichtselbsthemmendem Stellkeil (7) in beiden Richtungen automatisch durch die Federkräfte (7*) bezw. (13*) im Bereich des ungerillten Nockengrundkreises (2). Im weiteren umfasst der vorliegende oder ein anderer Ventiltrieb eine Einrichtung zum Verstellen der Ventilzeiten und des Ventilhubes sowie dazu passende, ausserordentlich einfache Zylinderköpfe.
