Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0155659A2] The roller shutter (5) which is assembled in an articulated manner from strips (20), is guided at at least one end in a spiral groove (11) and is rolled up and down by means of a drive wheel (15) which is set in motion by a drive (7). Arranged on the drive wheel (15) are carriers (16) which project partially into the groove (11) and act on cams (21) at the ends of the individual strips (20). The groove (11) may have the form of an elongate spiral groove, as a result of which the winding produced on rolling up the roller shutter (5) is relatively narrow, so that, on the one hand, it does not restrict the incidence of daylight and, on the other hand, can be accomodated in existing narrow recesses (4). <IMAGE>
