Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0155985A2] The method for simulated shooting for firing training, especially of tank gunners, allows an exact judgement of the particular shot, including its prehistory, permits an exact assessment of the hit and guarantees simple evaluation even under manoeuvres conditions. Care is taken to ensure that each target emits a characteristic radiation which is received, together with the target image, by means of a television camera and which is transmitted to a central unit. The signals received also contain the codable characteristics for identifying the vehicle supplying the target image, so that when the crosshairs are located on the target at the moment of firing, a hit acknowledgement can take place and, if appropriate, a smoke charge be ignited at the target via a coded radio command. <IMAGE>
