[origin: US4674154A] An electric oyster knife has a case (1), a blade holder (12) with a blade (13) slidably longitudinally between outer and inner positions with respect to the case, an electromagnet (2) mounted in the case for oscillating the blade holder between its two positions. An armature (7) is pivotally mounted in the case. The armature has a cam surface (11) for driving the blade holder toward its outer position, in a first position of the armature, and for allowing the blade holder to move to its inner position, in a second position of the armature.

L'invention est relative à un couteau électrique destiné notamment à l'ouverture des huitres, du type comprenant un boîtier (1), une lame (13) susceptible de coulisser dans sa direction longitudinale entre une position sortie par rapport au boîtier et une position rentrée par rapport au boîtier, et un électro-aimant (2) monté dans le boîtier et agencé pour faire vibrer la lame entre ses deux positions. Il comprend une came (7) montée à rotation sur le boîtier, ladite came étant susceptible de vibrer en rotation sous l'action de l'électro-aimant entre une première position où elle impose à la lame d'être en position sortie et une seconde position où elle permet à la lame de reprendre sa position rentrée.
