[origin: EP0156954A1] A hydraulically actuated excavator has an outrigger arm on which a rotary cutter (2) is mounted in order to dig trenches. The cutter (2) is mounted on a shaft (11) which is supported in a bearing (1) attached to a support plate (9). The outrigger is supported by rollers (6) at the ends of arms (5) which can pivot about the shaft axis. The depth of the trench cut by the cutter (2) is adjusted by a screwed bar which engages a nut in the end of one of the arms (5) and a nut in the end of an extension of the other arm.
