A device for the pivotable attachment of a toilet lid and/or seat on a lavatory pan, the lid and/or seat being mounted by means of horizontal pivot bolts (1, 1') and fixing parts adapted to be secured by means of two screws (9, 9') which engage cut-outs in the lavatory pan, the pivot bolts engaging bearing lugs of the cover and/or seat being removably secured to the fixing parts by means of a locking device, there being constructed on the pivot bolts (1, 1') integral projections (2, 2') which are mounted to engage corresponding longitudinal recesses (15, 15') of the fixing parts, characterised in that the locking device comprises a one-piece locking bolt (12, 12') mounted on the fixing part (4, 4') in such a way that it can be pivoted or pushed into a locking bolt recess (annular groove 3') in the projection (2, 2') on the fixing part (4, 4'), the axis of the longitudinal recess (15, 15') in the fixing part (4') extending in an offset relationship to the axis of the fixing part (4), the projections (2, 2') of the pivot mounting bolts (1') being mounted to rotate in relation to the fixing parts (4') and in the longitudinal recess (15, 15').
