[origin: US4755011A] A container for receiving currency bills or the like includes a plurality of adjacent compartments (22) and a housing (12) enclosing these with a closure unit (18) which is designed for selectively unblocking a predetermined compartment opening. The compartments are made up of individual compartment receptacles (22) which are arranged to be movable in the housing (12) parallel to the direction in which the compartment opening points and to which a positioning device (136) is assigned, through which respectively one compartment receptacle (22) can be moved between a waiting position, in which it is completely inside the housing (12), and an access position in which it partially protrudes out of the opening which is unblocked by the closure unit and substantially corresponds to the cross section of the compartment receptacle (22).

Ein Behälter zur Aufnahme von Wertscheinen oder dergleichen umfaßt eine Mehrzahl von nebeneinander angeordneten Fächern (22) und ein diese umschließendes Gehäuse (12) mit einer Verschlußeinrichtung (18), die zur wahlweisen Freigabe einer vorbestimmten Fachöffnung ausgebildet ist. Die Fächer sind von einzelnen Fachbehältern (22) gebildet, die parallel zur Richtung, in welche die Fachöffnung weist, verstellbar im Gehäuse (12) angeordnet sind und denen eine Stellvorrichtung (136) zugeordnet ist, durch die jeweils ein Fachbehälter (22) zwischen einer Wartestellung, in der er sich vollständig innerhalb des Gehäuses (12) befindet, und einer Zugriffsstellung verstellbar ist, in der er teilweise aus der von der Verschlußeinrichtung freigegebenen, dem Querschnitt des Fachbehälters (22) im wesentlichen entsprechenden Öffnung herausragt.
