Pocket folding machine comprising, mounted in a roll stand (1) and jointly driven by an electric motor (4), two pairs of folding rollers (W1, W2, W3, W4) and, mounted at staggered heights on opposite sides of the roll stand (1), two folding pockets (5, 6) having manually adjustable abutments (65, 66) for the stock which is to be folded, the roll stand (1) and the folding pockets (5, 6) being enclosed by sound-preventive housing parts (8, 9), which form an inlet aperture (51) on one side of the roll stand and an outlet aperture (17, 17/1) on the opposite side of the roll stand, characterised in that - a housing (7) is provided which encloses jointly and on all sides both the roll stand (1) and the folding pockets (5, 6), the said housing (7) comprising two separably and/or articulatingly connected parts, namely a base part (8) and a cover part (9), - the base part (8) comprises between two bottoms (10, 11) extending directly under the two folding pockets (5, 6) and at least approximately parallel with them, and two lateral vertical walls (15, 16), a shaft-like recess (12) to accommodate the roll stand (1), - and in that the cover part (9) comprises between two vertical side walls (40, 41) a first cover wall (45) which masks the upper folding pocket (5) and which has a wall portion (48) extending towards the inlet aperture (51), and a second cover wall (54, 54') located under the bottom folding pocket (6) and leading to the under side of the inlet aperture (51), and an end wall (39, 39') located under the second cover wall (54), and in that - the lines of separation (94, 97) of the vertical housing walls (15, 15', 16, 16', 40, 41) extend at least partly into the vicinity of the folding pocket planes.
