[origin: EP0157373A2] An electrical component, whose electrical value can be adjusted by rotating a rotating axle (3). According to the invention, the rotating axle (3) of the component, for example a potentiometer, is arranged such that it can move axially and at least one electrically switch (5) is operated when it is displaced from its rest position. The invention permits, for example, a required value to be set accurately by hand, by means of a potentiometer of small diameter, the value set being connected through to a display by the switch (5), so that the setting can be observed.
