Abstract (en)
A hose clamp comprising a circular bight having first and second ends extending beyond each other in opposite directions and thereafter curved back toward each other. Fastening members (18, 24) are positioned in engagement with the ends of the clamp. A coil spring (36) threaded through the fastening members provides the dual function of (a) constricting the bight in response to threading the coil spring through the fastening members, which threading also biasses the coil spring in compression and thereafter (b) applying a constant force to cause constriction of the bight.
