Multipurpose pliers having two pivotally connected, flat gripping limbs, equipped with elements for eliminating the vacuum in jars sealed by threaded lids. To form these elements, the gripping limbs (1, 2) each possess, in the region of the jaws (9), edges extending substantially in the axial direction, one of which is set back approximately at right angles in the end region of one limb (1), in such a way that a shoulder (12) and an approximately rectangular recess (11) extending continuously towards the front is formed. The end of the other limb (2) possesses a point (14) directed towards the recess (11), said point being dimensioned and arranged so that it touches the set-back edge of the recess (11) of the other limb (1) in the closed position of the pliers and forms with the shoulder (12) of the recess (11) and the parallel edges an approximately trapezoidal or rectangular opening. <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Die Erfindng betrifft eine Mehrzweckzange mit zwei gelenkig verbundenen, flachen Zangenschenekeln, die mit Elementen zur Beseitigung des Vakuums in mit Schraubdeckeln verschlossenen Gläsern ausgestattet ist. Zur Bildung dieser Elemente weisen die Zangenschenkel (1, 2) im Bereich des Zangenmaules (9) jeweils im wesentlichen in axialer Richtung verlaufende Kanten auf, von denen die eine im Endbereich des einen Schenkels (1) in etwa rechtwinklig zurückspringt, derart, daß ein Absatz (12) und eine nach vorn durchgehende, in etwa rechteckige Aussparung (11) gebildet ist. Das Ende des anderen Schenkels (2) weist eine zur Aussparung (11) hin gerichtete Spitze (14) auf, die so bemessen und angeordnet ist, daß sie die zurückgesetzte Kante der Aussparung (11) des anderen Schenkels (1) in Schließstellung der Zange berührt und mit dem Absatz (12) der Aussparung (11) sowie den parallelen Kanten eine in etwa trapez-oder rechteckförmige öffnung bildet.
