The electromagnetic trip device (32) includes a pivotable magnetic armature (104) which, upon the occurrence of an overload, pivots a latch lever (105, 107) which releases and engages a contact lever (40) bearing the movable contact member (24), roughly in the direction of the contact opening movement.
