[origin: WO8501757A1] On a knitting needle bar (4) with a reciprocating motion there is arranged a series of knitting needles (2). To insert the warp ends (26) into the knitting needles (2) there are provided setting needles (22) which are secured to a bar (24). To ensure a good accessibility to the knitting location, the knitting needles (2) are arranged in a plane (I) which forms with respect to the horizontal (H) an angle alpha which varies between 20<o> and 40<o>, preferably equal to 30<o>: this plane is inclined rearwardly. The knitting band (73) is evacuated by a knitting guide (76) arranged perpendicularly to the plane (I) of the knitting needles.

Sur une barre (4) d'aiguilles déplaçable d'un mouvement alternatif est disposée une série d'aiguilles à tricoter (2). Pour insérer les fils de chaîne (26) dans les aiguilles à tricoter (2) sont prévues des aiguilles de pose (22) qui sont fixées à une barre (24). Pour garantir une bonne accessibilité à l'emplacement de tricotage, les aiguilles à tricoter (2) sont disposées dans un plan (E) qui forme par rapport à l'horizontale (H) un angle alpha variable entre 20o et 40o, de préférence de 30o: ce plan est incliné vers l'arrière. La bande de tricot (74) est évacuée par un guide-tricot (76) disposé perpendiculairement au plan des aiguilles à tricoter (E).
