Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0159492A2] In a process for reducing the generation of NOx in coal dust furnaces, in which an additional fuel is supplied via nozzles (8) to the flue gas flow downstream of the main combustion zone and residual air is supplied via nozzles (14) downstream of the supply of the additional fuel, the additional fuel and the residual air, in order to achieve a better mixing of fuel and air into the flue gas flow, are supplied to the flue gas uniformly distributed over the cross-section of the flue gas flow. In a preferred embodiment of the firing equipment, it is envisaged that a fuel supply grid (7) with hollow rods (7a) extends transversely to the flue gas flow, which rods are provided on their upper side with fuel nozzles (8), and that, above the fuel supply grid (7), a residual air supply grid (13) with hollow rods (13a) extends, which rods are provided on their lateral surface with air nozzles (14), and that the ends of the hollow rods are connected to an additional fuel source (11) and a residual air source (17) respectively. <IMAGE>
