Device for tufting, looping or the like, in particular edge tufting or overtufting, edge looping or the like, textile workpieces, such as mats (14), in particular textile floor coverings, comprising a worktable (11) and, associated therewith, a tufting or looping machine (32). To increase the degree of automation, the worktable (11) is coordinated with a mat removal position (12), a mat deposition position (13) and a means (17) for removing mats to be worked (14), positioning them on the worktable (11) opposite the tufting or looping machine (32) or a conveying element (plunger 15) associated therewith, and for depositing the worked mats (16) at the mat deposition position (13). The mat removing, positioning and depositing means (17) has a mat receiving element (18) associated with the mat removal position (12), and a mat depositing element (19) associated with the mat deposition position (13), the movements of which are coupled to each other. The mat receiving (18) and depositing elements (19) each comprise suction means (suction pads 39) which grip and hold the mats (14 and 16) in the opened-out state and which are selectively connectable to a vacuum source. <IMAGE>

Vorrichtung zum Tuften, Ketteln od. dgl., insbesondere Rand- bzw. Overtuften, Randketteln od. dgl., von textilen Werkstücken, wie Matten (14), insbesondere textilen Fußbodenbelägen, mit einem Arbeitstisch (11) und einer diesem zugeordneten Tufting- oder Kettelmaschine (32). Zur Erhöhung des Automatisierungsgrades ist dem Arbeitstisch (11) eine Matten-Entnahmestelle (12), eine Matten-Ablage (13) sowie eine Einrichtung (17) zur Entnahme von zu bearbeitenden Matten (14), Positionierung derselben auf dem Arbeitstisch (11) gegenüber der Tufting- oder Kettelmaschine (32) oder einem dieser zugeordneten Förderorgan (Stempel 15) sowie zur Ablage der bearbeiteten Matten (16) an der Matten-Ablagestelle (13) zugeordnet. Die Matten-Entnahme-, Positionier- und Ablageeinrichtung (17) weist ein der Matten-Entnahmestelle (12) zugeordnetes Matten-Aufnahmeorgan (18) sowie ein der Matten-Ablagestelle (13) zugeordnetes Matten-Ablageorgan (19) auf, deren Bewegungen miteinander gekoppelt sind. Das Matten-Aufnahme-(18) sowie Matten-Ablageorgan (19) umfassen jeweils die Matten (14 bzw. 16) in ausgebreitetem Zustand erfassende und haltende Saugmittel (Saugnäpfe 39), die selektiv an eine Unterdruckquelle anschließbar sind.
