[origin: US4784204A] An awning having a frame including a bearing arm on each side which may move between a vertical relatively flat position for the awning when the awning canopy is retracted to an extended canopy forming position for the awning when the canopy is drawn out, wherein said bearing member is further supported and positioned, especially in the extended position, by a nut which is moveable on an adjustable member to predetermine the canopy formation of the awning, which nut may also be provided with a locking device to limit or prevent movement of the bearing member from an extended position toward a flat position on the occurrence of wind gusts.

Eine Kippgelenkarm-Markise weist einen Lagerbock (7) auf, der zu Beginn des Abwickelns des Tuchs (21) selbsttätig abkippt und dessen Kippbewegung durch einen Kippbegrenzer mit Anschlag begrenzt ist. Dieser Anschlag steht von einem zu seiner Ein- bzw. Nachstellung vorgesehenen Gewindebolzen (14) ab und wird von einem zweckmäßig einseitig abstehenden Anschlagzapfen (16) gebildet, der Teil einer vom Oberarm eines Gelenkarms steuerbaren Hochschlagsicherung ist.
