[origin: WO8501245A1] In the process for coating a metal pipe (1) at least one thermo-plastic material tape (2) is rolled to the preheated surface of the pipe. The heating of the pipe is limited both superficially and in depth to an area of which the width is related to that of the tape (2) to be applied and the application of said tape (2) is carried out at a sufficiently close distance to the heating area so that the surface temperature of the pipe (1) in the thus preheated area is compatible with the adhesion of said tape. Utilization for coating metal pipes with a protection layer of plastic material.

Dans le procédé pour revêtir un tube métallique (1) au moins un ruban (2) de matière thermoplastique est enroulé sur la surface préchauffée du tube. On limite le chauffage du tube tant en surface qu'en profondeur à une zone dont la largeur est en relation avec celle du ruban (2) à appliquer et l'application de ce ruban (2) est effectuée à une distance suffisamment proche de la zone de chauffage pour que la température superficielle du tube (1) dans la région ainsi préchauffée soit compatible avec le collage dudit ruban. Utilisation pour revêtir les tubes métalliques d'une couche de protection en matière plastique.
