Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0160929A2] The method, which can be carried out mechanically for the manufacture of a cardboard box, consisting of a base (1) and four side walls (2, 3), having wooden supports (6) in the four corners, on whose side pointing into the interior of the box bears a tab (4) bent away from one side wall (3), and in which the box is erected from a blank in one piece and the sides of the wooden supports (6) are adhesively bonded to the cardboard parts surrounding them, comprises the following steps: - the box is completely erected from the blank and is adhesively bonded to form receiving chambers (5) for the wooden supports (6) which are open at the top; - the insides of the receiving chambers (5) are coated with adhesive; - the wooden supports (6) are then introduced from the top into the receiving chambers (5), the upper edges of the walls of the receiving chambers (5) being simultaneously pushed apart. To carry out the method, a suitable device has feed shafts (7) for the wooden supports (6), which are in each case aligned with the receiving chambers (5) of the erected box, and each of which supports is provided at its lower end with elastic, inwardly directed tabs (8) which can be lowered together with the associated shaft (7) into the interior of the relevant receiving chamber (5) and by means of which the downwardly pressed wooden supports (6) can be pushed apart. <IMAGE>
