Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0161183A1] 1. Process for mounting, on an approximately vertical support (1) such as a wall, a flexible sheet (99) such as a painted fabric, having two pairs of mutually opposed edges, the edges (100) of a first pair being rectilinear and parallel when the sheet is flat and having ends by means of which they are connected to the edges (102, 101) of the second pair, the said sheet (99) having, respectively along each of the two edges (100) of the first pair, two flexible rods (103) of predetermined cross-section which have ends coinciding substantially with those of the edges (100) of the first pair and define regions of greater thickness than that of the immediately adjacent regions of the sheet (99), these rods (103) being rectilinear, of predetermined length between their ends, and parallel, spaced by a predetermined spacing when the sheet (99) is flat, the said process having a sequence of steps comprising : a) forming on the support (99) two continuous, rectilinear parallel grooves (46, 49) which are spaced by a predetermined spacing, each of these grooves (46, 49) having a predetermined cross-section, a first open end, a second end remote from the first end by a predetermined length of groove (46, 49) and a continuous rectilinear slot (45, 50) extending from the first end to the second end and forming for the said groove (46, 49) a narrowing of predetermined width (e), the length of each groove (46, 49) being at least equal to the length of a respective rod (103) and the cross-section of the said groove (46, 49) being suitable for containing that of this rod (103), the said width (e) being between the said thicknesses, and the spacing between the grooves (46, 49) being less than the spacing between the rods (103), b, c, d) engaging a respective rod (103) in each groove (46, 49) by engaging in the slot (45, 50) of this groove (46, 49) a sheet (99) region immediately adjacent to this rod, e) moving apart from one another the slots (45, 50) of the grooves (46, 49) to tension the sheet (99), the said process being characterized in that the said grooves (46, 49) and the said slots (45, 50) extend approximately vertically, the said first and second ends being respectively lower and upper ends, and in that steps b, c, d are implemented by the sequence of steps comprising : b) introducing into each groove (46, 49), through the open lower end of the latter and by means of one (102) of the edges (101, 102) of the second pair, an end region of the said respective rod (103) by engaging in the slot (45, 50) of this groove (46, 49) the said region of the sheet (99) which is immediately adjacent to this rod (103), c) applying upward traction to the said edge (102) of the second pair to raise the flexible sheet (99) by means of sliding the rods (103) in the grooves (46, 49) and sliding the regions of the sheet (99) immediately adjacent to these rods (103) in the slots (45, 50) until the rods (103) are completely engaged in the grooves (46, 49), d) making stationary the said edge (102) of the second pair.
