[origin: US4644979A] The heddle drive is coupled to the transverse beam of the heddle so that the path of movement of the heddle and the direction in which the drive force is applied run parallel to each other. As a result, the transverse beams need not be especially strong. Further, the longitudinal beams may be constructed in a light weight manner since no drive forces are transmitted to these beams. The resulting heddle has a relatively small mass and the drive is especially suitable for high speed weaving machines.

Bei der Schaftantriebsvorrichtung ist der Antriebsteil (28) des Übertragungsmechanismus an die Querbalken (23) des Webschaftes (4) angekuppelt, so daß die Bewegungsrichtung (20) des Schaftes und die Antriebskraft für den Schaft (4) jeweils parallel zueinander verlaufen. Dadurch brauchen die Querstreben nicht besonders kräftig ausgebildet zu sein. Andererseits können die Längsbalken (21, 22) relativ leicht gebaut sein, weil auf sie keine Antriebskraft übertragen wird. Die Masse des gesamten Schaftes wird dadurch relativ gering, so daß sich die Antriebsvorrichtung besonders für hohe Drehzahlen der Webmaschine eignet.
