[origin: US4642891A] A method of manufacturing contact structures on a support strap wherein at least one layer of a contact material such as gold, silver or alloys thereof is applied on top of the cross-web of a T-shaped metal strip of an easily cold stampable material and sections of predetermined length are cut from the T-shaped strip thereby providing contact members with stem portions with which they are inserted from one side of a support strap through corresponding openings stamped into the support strap whereupon the stems of the contact members which project through the support strap are stamped from the other side so as to firmly engage the contact members with the support strap. This method permits automatic manufacturing without damage to the contact surface of the contact members when being mounted on the strap.

Ziel der Erfindung ist es, ein Verfahren zum Herstellen von Kontaktbauteilen anzugeben, das die automatische Herstellung dieser Kontaktbauteile auf wirtschauftliche Art und Weise zuläßt bei optimal aufgebauten Kontaktschichten der Kontakte. Erreicht wird dies dadurch, daß ein im Querschnitt T-förmiges Band (1, 11) aus kalt gut prägbarem Metall hergestellt wird, daß das Band (1, 11) auf seiner Oberseite mit dem Kontaktmaterial (4, 14) verbunden wird, daß von diesem so hergestellten Kontakband Kontaktstücke gewünschter Länge abgetrennt werden, daß in dem Trägerband (10) der Breite des Steges (2) des T-förmigen Bandes (1, 11) und der Länge der Kontaktstücke entsprechende Durchbrüche ausgespart werden, und daß die Kontaktstücke in diese Durchbrüche eingesetzt und unterseitig verprägt werden. Da dadurch der Prägedruck sehr gering gehalten werden kann und außerdem der Gegenhalter nicht auf dem Kontaktmaterial aufsitzen muß, ist es möglich, nicht nur den Kontaktmaterialaufbau optimal zu gestalten, sondern die Kontakte auch ohne Beschädigung dieser unter Umständen sehr dünnen Kontaktmaterialschicht sicher automatisch in dem Trägerband zu befestigen.
