Guy derrick, in which a travelling gear (6) supported on a main cable (1) and displaceable on rollers (7) is connected to a traction cable (8) and a return cable (9) and the two cables (8, 9) can be driven by the driving station (2), the traction cable (8) being guided in the travelling gear (6) and carries at its end a load attachment tackle (33), which can be raised and lowered with the aid of the traction cable when the travelling gear is stationary, characterized in that the traction cable (8) coming from the driving station is guided in the travelling gear with at least one loop (22) on a power transfer roller (20) and subsequently by a pair of feed rollers (27, 28), the latter being connected to the power transfer roller by a driving device (24), in which the circumferential speed of the feed rollers (27, 28) is higher than the circumferential speed of the power transfer roller (20) and that the latter is coupled to a winch (18), on which is wound one end of the return cable (9) with the same winding direction as that of the loop of the traction cable (8) on the power transfer roller (20).
