1. A piece of furniture, particularly a desk, having a cable duct (2) for electric circuits which is disposed in an outer vertical wall (1) of the piece of furniture, itself extends vertically and has a cover at the outside, wherein the wall (1) of the piece of furniture containing the cable duct (2) is divided vertically, in a region (4) comprising the cable duct (2), into an inner (5) and an outer wall shell (6), of which the inner wall shell (5) comprises the cable duct (2) and the outer wall shell (6) is constructed in the form of a duct cover which is movable in relation to the inner one (5) in order to expose the cable duct (2), characterised in that the outer wall shell (6) is supported in a vertical plane for horizontal displacement on the inner wall shell (5) in the manner of a sliding device movable back and forth for the normal covering and occasional exposure of the cable duct (2).

Bei einem Möbel, insbesondere einem Schreibtisch, mit einem senkrechten Kabelkanal (2) für elektrische Leitungen ist die den Kabelkanal (2) enthaltende Möbelwand (1) in einem den Kabelkanal (2) umfassenden Bereich (4) in eine innere (5) und eine äußere Wandschale (6) vertikal unterteilt. Die innere Wandschale (5) weist den Kabelkanal (2) auf und die äußere Wandschale (6) ist als gegenüber der inneren (5) für ein Freilegen des Kabelkanals (2) bewegbare Kanalabdeckung ausgebildet, die im Bedarfsfall zur Ermöglichung von Arbeiten im Kabelkanal entfernt werden kann, ohne daß durch die Schaffung dieser Möglichkeit die optische Einheitlichkeit des Möbelkorpus beeinträchtigt wird.
