[origin: WO8402940A1] In an acoustic system which includes a substantially panel-like member (10; 13; 18; 26; 30; 34) which can be set into oscillatory motion transversally of its main extension for the purpose of generating, or damping and absorbing air-borne sound, the aforesaid member (10; 13; 18; 26; 30; 34) exhibits in a centrally located region (12; 23; 29) of considerably smaller area than the total area of the member, an air-permeability which is so much greater than that of the remainder of the member that said region dynamically dampens oscillations in the member proportionally to change in velocity of the oscillatory motion in said region.

Dans un système acoustique comportant un élément pratiquement en forme de panneau (10; 13; 18; 26; 30; 34) qui peut prendre un mouvement oscillatoire transversalement par rapport à son extension principale dans le but d'engendrer ou d'amortir et d'absorber un son propagé par l'air, l'élément susmentionné (10; 13; 18; 26; 30; 34) présente dans une région située centralement (12; 23; 29) d'une surface considérablement inférieure à la surface totale de l'élément une perméabilité à l'air qui est à tel point supérieure à celle du reste de l'élément que ladite région amortit dynamiquement des oscillations dans l'élément proportionnellement au changment de vélocité du mouvement oscillatoire dans ladite région.
