[origin: WO8502499A1] A low insertion force electrical connector system comprises a receptable (19) having a plurality of electrical contacts (31, 32) arranged in at least two opposing rows. A low insertion force system (30) selectively spaces apart or closes the electrical contacts to limit insertion of a circuit board with a low force. Devices (22) are provided for aligning and locking the circuit board within the receptacle and an actuating system (36) is arranged to serially operate the aligning and locking devices first followed by the low insertion force system.

Un système de connecteur électrique à faible force d'insertion comprend un réceptacle (19) possédant une pluralité de contacts électriques (31, 32) disposés sur au moins deux rangées opposées. Un système à faible force d'insertion (30) écarte ou ferme sélectivement les contacts électriques pour limiter la force exercée lors de l'insertion d'une carte de circuit. Des dispositifs (22) permettent d'aligner et de verrouiller la carte de circuit dans le réceptacle et un dispositif d'actionnement (36) actionne en série d'abord les dispositifs d'alignement et de verrouillage et ensuite le système à faible force d'insertion.
