Means for reliably supporting and restraining a sprung tyred vehicle (100) on the platform or the like (101) of another carrier by means, some associated or to be associated with the vehicle and some with the carrier, for locking the springing including the vehicle tyres, some of such means preventing strokes of the vehicle springing and some preventing recoil thereof, characterised in that the stroke-preventing means are a number of stilts (6) which are adapted to be provided between various places (1) of the vehicle chassis (4, 5) or structure and the carrier platform (101) and which are vertically adjustable to provide substantially clearance-free support, and the recoil-preventing means are a number of flexible tensioning elements (7), such as ropes or cables or chains or the like, which are connected to various places (2) of the vehicle chassis (4, 5) or structure and to the carrier platform and which can be so tensioned in direction and force as when tensioned to ensure permanent engagement between the vehicle chassis or structure and the stilts.
