[origin: WO8502091A1] In order to enable an angler to retain a rod in a convenient position while keeping both hands free for such operations as removing a fish and rebaiting a hook, there is provided an angling aid comprising a harness for attachment to the wearer's body and including a cradle (28, 29) for support of a fishing rod. In the arrangement shown, a thigh embracing element (21) is supported by a side strap (22) forming part of the harness. The element (21) may further be supported from a waist band forming a further part of the harness. The cradle is formed by two out-turned arcuate ends (28) and (29) of a metal rod (27) secured to a raised portion (25) of the part (21) by means of wing nuts (33). The side strap (22) passes through apertures (41) in the element (21) so as pass between the wing nuts and the wearer.

Pour permettre qu'un pêcheur à la ligne tienne une canne dans une position appropriée tout en gardant ses deux mains libres pour des opérations aussi diverses que sortir un poisson et garnir un hameçon, l'accessoire de pêche à la ligne proposé comprend un harnais s'attachant au corps de l'usager et comprenant un berceau (28, 29) destiné à supporter une canne à pêche. Dans l'agencement illustré, un élément (21) entourant la cuisse est supporté par une sangle latérale (22) faisant partie du harnais. L'élément (21) peut aussi être supporté depuis une ceinture formant partie du harnais. Le berceau est formé par deux extrémités arquées (28 et 29) d'une tige métallique (27) fixée à une partie surélevée (25) de l'élément (21) à l'aide d'écrous papillons (33). La sangle latérale (22) passe au travers d'ouvertures (41) aménagées dans l'élément (21) de manière à passer entre les écrous papillons et l'utilisateur.
