[origin: EP0164488A2] The single-strike ribbon cartridge for typing or printing machines has a housing in which a take-up roller, a transport roller (8) and a contact roller (9) for the ribbon (10) are rotatably mounted, the take-up roller (6) and transport roller (8) being driven by a common drive on the machine and being connected to each other by a sliding clutch, and the ribbon (10) is guided in a friction-tight manner between the transport roller (8) and the contact roller (9), the sliding clutch being designed as a belt drive and being an integral part of the ribbon cartridge (1), and consisting of two pulleys connected to each other by a belt, and in that the transport roller (8) and the contact roller (9) possess involute teeth (17, 18) which mesh with one another in the contact region of the ribbon (10). <IMAGE>
