A process to exhaust emissions arising on pushing coke from coke oven chambers through a hood travelling on coke side of an oven chamber, said hood being connected to a stationary exhaust system, with said emissions being exhausted both above the spot of tipping red-hot coke and above the section of a coke quench car being already filled with coke, characterized in that adjustable quantities of emissive gases are exhausted at the lower outer edge of said double-walled hood through a narrow ring slot extending between outer and inner hood, with the walls of said inner hood being tightly closed, and with said emissive gases being exhaustible only at the lower and upper edge of said inner hood and being united prior to their entry into said stationary duct with gases, if any, being additionally exhausted above the coke batch.
