Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0164755A2] In a sound-insulating window whose window frame is formed from plastic hollow profile rods, the required fresh air is introduced into the room through the window frame. In order to eliminate the sound energy of the incoming air, the latter is introduced into the window frame at a point which, seen in the peripheral direction of the frame, is at a considerable distance from the point at which the air emerges again from the frame. On its way through the frame, the air flows along a strip composed of sound-absorbing material, so that on entry to the room, it has had all or almost all its sound energy removed from it. <IMAGE>
