[origin: WO8502498A1] An electrical connector system comprises a connector receptacle including a body shell member (19) and a plurality of independent segments (20) with each segment supporting opposing rows of contacts (31, 32). The segments are supported in the body shell in an independently floating arrangement. Each segment includes a system permitting individual independent alignement of the segment to a circuit board. Preferably, the receptacle includes a low insertion force mechanism (30) which permits a circuit board or electronic module to be inserted or retrieved with very little effort by the operator.

Un système de connecteur électrique se compose d'un réceptacle de connecteur comprenant un organe de coque (19) et une pluralité de segments indépendants (20) dont chacun supporte des rangées opposées de contacts (31, 32). Les segments sont supportés dans la coque selon un agencement flottant indépendamment. Chaque segment comprend un système permettant un alignement individuel indépendant du segment sur une carte de circuit. De préférence, le réceptacle comprend un mécanisme à faible force d'insertion (30) qui permet l'insertion ou l'extraction d'une carte de circuit ou d'un module électronique par l'opérateur avec très peu d'effort.
