[origin: US4856426A] Sheet-fed rotary printing machine having printing units arranged in tandem for processing both paper as well as cardboard with single-side multicolor or first form and perfector printing and having at least one sheet-turning device, each of the printing units having four cylinders consisting, in addition to a plate and a blanket cylinder of given diameter, of an impression cylinder and a transfer cylinder each having double the diameter of the respective plate and blanket cylinders, includes a base frame located between two of the printing units and carrying only two cylinders consisting of a transfer cylinder and a storage cylinder, each having a diameter double that of the respective plate and blanket cylinders, the one of the two printing units located downstream of the base frame in travel direction of a sheet through the printing machine having a transfer cylinder in the form of a sheet-turning cylinder with respective rows of tongs-grippers disposed 180 DEG from one another around the circumference thereof, the base frame and the one of the two printing units together constituting a sheet-turning device, the impression cylinder of the one of the two printing units being in cooperative engagement with the turning cylinder and having hook grippers thereon for taking over a sheet from the tongs grippers of the turning cylinder, and means disposed on the impression and turning cylinder as well as the transfer and storage cylinders for transporting the sheet smudge-free with the printed surface thereof facing radially inwardly on the cylinders.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Bogen-Rotationsdruckmaschine in Reihenbauart der Druckwerke zur Verarbeitung sowohl von Papier als auch von Karton im einseitigen Mehrfarben- oder Schön- und Widerdruckverfahren. Es ist mindestens eine Wendeeinrichtung vorgesehen. Jedes Druckwerk weist außer einem Platten- und einem Gummizylinder, einen Druckzylinder sowie eine Umführtrommel mit mindestens zweifachem Durchmesser auf. Zwischen zwei Druckwerken ist ein einfaches Grundgestell lediglich zur Aufnahme einer Umführtrommel und einer Speichertrommel, beide mit doppeltem Durchmesser, angeordnet. In dem Druckwerk, das dem Grundgestell folgt, ist anstelle der Umführtrommel ein Wendezylinder mit um 180° versetzt angeordneten Reihen von Zangengreifern vorgesehen. Somit bilden Grundgestell und nachfolgendes Druckwerk eine Wendeeinrichtung. Der mit dem Wendezylinder zusammenarbeitende Druckzylinder ist mit Hakengreifern für die Übernahme des Bogens von den Zangengreifern bestückt. Schliesslich sind bei den Druck- und Wendezylindern sowie Umführ- und Speichertrommeln, die den Bogen mit der nach innen gekehrten Druckflächenseite transportieren, Vorkehrungen zum abschmierfreien Transport der Bogen getroffen. Die Verwendung von Zangengreifern im Zusammenwirken mit der Speichertrommel und den Hakengreifern des dem Wendezylinder folgenden Druckzylinders ermöglichen eine Bogenübergabe während des Wendevorganges ohne Abknicken oder Beschädigen der Bogenkante. Die Vorkehrungen zum abschmierfreien Transport der Bogen erübrigen eine viel Energie verzehrende, die Bogen eventuell verformende Trockenvorrichtung.
