Dye-tube, which can be used with direct coil loading and for wet treatment and further treatment of threads and yarns, with an essentially cylindrical jacket which is formed by end rings (1, 2) arranged at its ends, one of which is provided with a thread reserve groove (6), and by intermediate rings (3) with an approximately rectangular cross section arranged parallel between the end rings (1, 2), which are connected with one another and with the end rings (1, 2) by webs (7), which run axially from one end ring (1, 2) to the other, and extend radially outwardly at the most to the cylindrical surface defined by the outer faces of the end rings (1, 2) and the intermediate rings (3), whereby one end ring (2) is provided with a centering mounting (11) and the other end ring (1) with a centering fitting (5) matched to the mounting (11), characterised in that the distance between the adjacent intermediate rings (3) or between an adjacent ring (3) and an end ring (1, 2) is at the most 75% of the width of the adjacent intermediate ring (3), in that the apertures of the openings (10) created by the rings and the webs are of differing size over the height of the dye-tube and in that the cross section of the webs (7) is reduced radially outwards.
