Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0166719A2] Profile seal, in particular for filling the joints of slabs, for example in the case of roadways, pavements, floors and the like. The profile seal consists of a central web (2) having transverse strips (3, 3') projecting on both sides. The central web (2) bears on its top side a U-shaped channel whose side walls can be pushed in and, after the slabs (8) have been laid, form a dovetail-shaped groove (4') in the compressed state. In order to achieve shock and sound absorption by the use of the profile seal, the profile is provided with absorbing material in the form of strips (11) which can be arranged as required between the bottom (10) of the channel (4) and the underlying transverse strip (3) and/or between the two transverse strips (3, 3') and/or between the two walls (2', 2'') of a central web (2) of double-wall construction and/or beneath the transverse strips (3') or beneath the central web (2). <IMAGE>
