[origin: US4691912A] A method and apparatus is provided for separating flat objects such as mail. A control circuit compares the spacing between successive flat objects with a preferred preselected spacing and if these is a difference the control circuit changes the drive apparatus so the actual spacing between flat objects is the preferred spacing.

Bei einer Vereinzelungseinrichtung für flache Gegenstände, insbesondere Briefsendungen, wird deren infolge ihrer unterschiedlichen Eigenschaften (z. B. Länge, Dicke, Gewicht) auftretende Abweichung von ihrem optimalen aufeinanderfolgenden Abstand durch Auslösung des Abzugs unter Berücksichtigung eines Vorgabeweges korrigiert.
