Gleichstrom-Lichtbogen-Heizvorrichtung, insbesondere Pfanne oder Pfannenofen, mit mindestens einer aufzehrenden, mit dem im Gefäß befindlichen Schmelzgut in Kontakt stehenden Metallelektrode (3) sowie einer über dem Schmelzgut höhenverstellbar angeordneten Graphit-Elektrode, wobei zwischen der Graphit-Elektrode und dem Schmelzgut ein Lichtbogen entwickelt wird. Die Metallelektrode (3) (Metallektroden) ist (sind) in einer oberhalb des Gefässes (1) vorgesehenen Haltevorrichtung nachführbar angeordnet.
