In a method and an apparatus for twisting wire ends together for the purpose of binding sacks, connecting any desired parts or joining reinforcing rods in the subsequent manufacture of concrete or the like, it is proposed, while dispensing with end loops, to remove in each case one piece of wire of predetermined length from a wire spool 13 arranged on a twisting tool 10, and after winding round the parts one or more times to guide the free end piece 23b of the wire back into the region of a clamping or outlet opening 22 of the twisting tool 10, to fix it there by means of a clamping operation, and then to produce a twisting effect on the wires by pulling apart of the tool, the piece of wire still connected in each case to the stock wire spool being cut by a cutting apparatus, either at the time of the first clamping or after twisting, by means of an additional, voluntary movement by the user. A twisting tool for implementing such a twisting method comprises bearing means 12 for a wire stock spool 13 as well as wire-outlet or clamping means 16 which serve for clamping and/or cutting the piece of wire, the clamping region performing a rotary movement for twisting the wire ends when the tool is pulled out axially relative to the hand grip 11. <IMAGE>

Bei einem Verfahren und einer Vorrichtung zum Verdrillen von Drahtenden miteinander zur Verschnürung von Säcken, Verbinden von beliebigen Teilen oder von Moniereisen bei der nachfolgenden Herstellung von Beton od. dergl. wird vorgeschlagen, unter Verzicht auf Endschlaufen jeweils ein Drahtstück vorgegebener Länge von einem an einem Verdrillgerät 10 angeordneten Drahtwickel 13 abzuziehen und nach ein- oder mehrfachem Umwickeln der Teile das freie Drahtendstück 23b in den Bereich einer Klemmoder Austrittsöffnung 22 des Verdrillgerats 10 zurückzuführen, dort durch einen Klemmvorgang festzuhalten und anschließend durch Auseinanderziehen des Gerätes eine Verdrillwirkung der Drähte hervorzurufen, wobei entweder zum Zeitpunkt des ersten Einklemmens oder nach dem Verdrillen das jeweils mit dem Vorratsdrahtwickel noch verbundene Drahtstück durch eine zusätzliche willkürliche Bewegung des Benutzers von einer Schneidvorrichtung abgeschnitten wird. Ein Verdrillgerät zur Durchführung eines solchen Verdrillverfahrens umfaßt Lagermittel 12 für einen Drahtvorratswickel 13 sowie Drahtaustritts- oder Klemmeinrichtungen 16 die dem Festklemmen und/oder Abschneiden des Drahtstücks dienen, wobei der Klemmbereich bei axialem Ausziehen des Geräts relativ zum Handgriff 11 eine Drehbewegung zum Verdrillen der Drahtenden durchführt.
