Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0167967A2] The metal sump of a truck or bus engine is at least partially covered by an outer shell (1) which is attached to it in a manner which insulates against structure-borne noise, is at only a small distance from the metal sump and has openings (8) at the underside (5) which engage around supporting feet (8) integrally formed on the underside of the metal sump and having annular supports (11), with the result that an engine which is equipped with the oil sump according to the invention or is converted by means of the cladding according to the invention can be transported, stored and installed in the usual manner since the outer shell (1) does not hinder the setting down of the engine on its supporting feet (8) or the installation of the engine. <IMAGE>
