Abstract (en)

[origin: US4694144A] A double-glazed window frame comprising two parallel glass panes has an internal blind disposed between the glass panes in parallel therewith. The internal blind comprises a succession of collapsible elongated tubular volumes formed from a plurality of plastic strips; each plastic strip having a center section, an upper face, a lower face, an edge adjacent one of said glass panes and another edge adjacent the other of said glass panes; with the plastic strips alternately bonded to one another through the center section and through the two edges. Each plastic strip has a metallic layer deposited on each face thereof, and each metallic layer has a break in continuity between the edge adjacent one of the glass panes and the edge adjacent the other of the glass panes, whereby the coefficient of thermal insulation of the blind is improved.
