Polychlorobiphenylene (PCB) is removed from electroinsulating fluids during replacement of PCB oils by other insulating fluids, in particular silicone oils, by bringing the insulating fluid into contact with a liquid extractant for polychlorobiphenyls and then separating off the extractant from the insulating fluid. The advantage of the process according to the invention is that electroinsulating fluid enriched with polychlorobiphenylene can be reused and furthermore that even transformers contaminated with PCB can be purified in this manner and thus become suitable for scrapping.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Entfernung von Polychlorbiphenylen (PCB) aus Elektroisolierflüssigkeiten beim Ersatz von PCB-Ölen durch andere Isolierflüssigkeiten, insbesondere Silikonöle. Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren ist dadruch gekennzeichnet, daß die Isolierflüssigkeit mit einem flüssigen Extraktionsmittel für Polychlorbiphenyle in Kontakt gebracht und das Extraktionsmittel anschließend von der Isolierflüssigkeit abgetrennt wird. Der Vorteil des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens liegt darin, daß eine Wiederverwendung von mit Polychlorbiphenylen angereicherter Elektroisolierflüssigkeit möglich ist, weiterhin, daß auch mit PCB verunreinigte Transformatoren auf diese Weise gereinigt und damit einer Verschrottung zugeführt werden können.
