[origin: EP0170993A2] The device comprises a plurality of selection levers (2) journalled to a common structure (1) and being selectively movable from a first position whereat one end (2a) thereof is adapted to interfere with the butts (7) and push the respective jacks (8) into an inoperative position, and a second position whereat that same end (2a) is located between the jack butts (7) so as not to interfere therewith. The selection levers (2) are driven by intermediate drive elements (10), each actuated by two actuator members (14), alternately actuable to meet contingent knitting requirements. Each of the intermediate drive elements (10) is engaged at all times with a corresponding selection lever (2).
