[origin: WO8503379A1] A strip of amorphous metal is separated into first and second strips by scribing a line in a surface of the strip, folding and moving the sides of the strip together along the scribed line in the direction which encloses the scribed line close enough to form a crease and then at least partly flattening the strip. The strip separates into the first and second parts as the flattening operation proceeds along the strip. The facing cut edges of the first and second strips are moved apart once they are separated. To extend the life of the scribing tool, the flattening step may be extended to include reversing the crease.

Une bande de métal amorphe est séparée en une première et une deuxième bandes en traçant une ligne sur une surface de la bande, en pliant et en déplaçant ensemble des côtés de la bande le long de la ligne tracée dans le sens qui entoure la ligne tracée à une distance suffisamment courte pour former un pli, et en aplatissant ensuite au moins partiellement la bande. Celle-ci se sépare en une première et une deuxième parties lorsque l'opération d'aplatissage est exécutée le long de la bande. Les bords découpés opposés de la première et de la deuxième bandes sont écartés une fois séparés. Pour prolonger la durée de l'outil de traçage, l'étape d'aplatissage peut être étendue pour comprendre le renversement du pli.
