[origin: US4679500A] A printing mechanism (10) includes a plurality of setting wheels (16) which are rotatably mounted about a common axis and with which endless printing bands (20) are in drive connection which carry in a region of their length at the outer surface printing types (22) and in another region of their length carry at the outside indicating types (24). The printing bands (20) are led round the setting wheels (16) and a deflection edge (18) spaced therefrom. By turning the setting wheels (16) said bands are adjustable. In another region of their length they are provided at the inner surface with teeth (50) for engaging in corresponding recesses (52) in the setting wheels. A setting shaft (42) carrying an actuating knob (48) can be brought into a drive connection with the setting wheels (16). To limit the turning angle of the setting wheels (16) stop means are provided which include stop shoulders (74, 78) disposed in the path of movement of the tooth (50) lying at the front in the particular adjustment direction of the printing bands (20). The stop shoulders are disposed directly adjacent the deflection edge (18).

Ein Druckwerk (10) enthält mehrere, um eine gemeinsame Achse drehbar gelagerte Einstellräder (16), mit denen in einem Bereich ihrer Länge an der Außenfläche Drucktypen (22) und einem anderen Bereich ihrer Länge an der Außenfläche Anzeigetypen (24) tragende, endlose Druckbänder (20) in einer Antriebsverbindung stehen. Die Druckbänder (20) sind um die Einstellräder (16) und um eine davon im Abstand angeordnete Umlenkkante (18) herumgeführt. Durch Verdrehen der Einstellräder (16) sind sie verstellbar. In einem anderen Bereich ihrer Länge sind sie an der Innenfläche mit Zähnen (50) zum Eingreifen in entsprechende Ausnehmungen (52) in den Einstellrädern versehen. Eine Einstellwelle (42), die einen Betätigungsknopf (48) trägt, kann mit den Einstellrädern (16) in eine Antriebsverbindung gebracht werden. Zur Begrenzung des Verdrehwinkels der Einstellräder (16) sind Anschlagmittel vorgesehen, die in der Bewegungsbahn des in der jeweiligen Verstellrichtung der Druckbänder (20) vorne liegenden Zahns (50) angebrachte Anschlagschultern (74, 78) enthalten. Die Anschlagschultern sind unmittelbar angrenzend an die Umlenkkante (18) angebracht.
