[origin: WO8503674A1] A wheel for use on land vehicle such as small manually drawn trailers and similar carriers, the wheel having a tire supporting rim (12) and a low pressure tire (48) engaging the rim, the tire comprising a thin walled torus (50) of elastomeric material, the torus having an inner diameter surface (52) engaging the rim, an inflation valve (54) and an outer diameter surface (56) for contacting a soft or irregular support surface, so that the tire deforms or flattens substantially when it contacts such surfaces with an axle load applied to the wheel, thereby facilitating movement of a vehicle over such surfaces. A method of moving such vehicles is also disclosed.

Roue destinée à être utilisée sur des véhicules tout terrain tels que de petites remorques tirées à la main et d'autres vehicules de transport analogues. La roue présente une jante (12) supportant un pneu et un pneu basse pression (48) entoure la jante, le bras comprenant un tore à paroi mince (50) en matériau élastomère, le tore possédant une surface de diamètre interne (92) engageant la jante, une valve de gonflage (54) et une surface de diamètre externe (56) en contact avec une surface meuble ou irrégulière de support; le pneu se déforme ou s'aplatit sensiblement lorsqu'il entre en contact avec ces surfaces et qu'une charge d'essieu est appliquée à la roue, facilitant ainsi le roulement du véhicule sur ces surfaces. On décrit également un procédé d'entraînement de ces véhicules.
