An agitator mill having a cylindrical, fixed mill container (3) has a milling space (9) filled partially with auxiliary milling bodies (44), in which milling space a rotationally driveable agitator mechanism (7) is concentrically arranged, from which agitator rods (29) protrude radially. In addition, corresponding rods (31', 31'') can be attached to the container wall (10). In order to improve the wear of the milling space wall (10) and possibly the wear of an agitator shaft whilst at the same time improving the heat transfer to the milling space wall and possibly the agitator shaft, the distance (a) of the agitator rods (29) from the milling space wall (10) is smaller than half the diameter of the smallest inserted auxiliary milling body (44). The same applies if appropriate for the corresponding rods (31, 31'). The rods are of plane construction at their ends. <IMAGE>

Eine Rührwerksmühle mit einem zylindrischen ortsfesten Mahlbehälter (3) weist einen teilweise mit Mahlhilfskörpern (44) gefüllten Mahlraum (9) auf, in dem konzentrisch ein drehantreibbares Rührwerk (7) angeordnet ist, von dem Rührstäbe (29) radial abstehen. Außerdem können an der Behälterwand (10) Gegenstäbe (31', 31") angebracht sein. Um den Verschleiß der Mahlraumwand (10) und gegebenenfalls den Verschleiß der Rührwerkswelle unter gleichzeitiger Verbesserung des Wärmeübergangs an der Mahlraumwand und gegebenenfalls der Rührwerkswelle zu verbessern, ist der Abstand (a) der Rührstäbe (29) von der Mahlraumwand (10) kleiner als der halbe Durchmesser der kleinsten eingesetzten Mahlhilfskörper (44). Gleiches gilt gegebenenfalls für die Gegenstäbe (31, 31'). Die Stäbe sind an ihren Enden eben ausgebildet.
