[origin: US4723498A] The invention relates to a novel sailboat rigging, in which two masts placed without shrouds in a common thwartships plane are joined at the masthead and each have a main boom. Both main booms have a carriage that is displaceable in the longitudinal direction and is joined to the foot edge of a mainsail. The mainsail is embodied as a staysail and is guided on a stay that connects the masthead to the back end of the carriage. An articulated attachment of the two carriages by means of connecting rods to a swivel point disposed midway between the two masts offers the opportunity of automatically controlling the shortening and lengthening of the boom by means of the carriage.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine neue Segelbootstakelung, bei der zwei wantenlos in einer gemeinsamen Querschiffsebene aufgestellte Masten an der Spitze verbunden sind und jeweils einen Großbaum tragen. Beide Großbäume weisen einen in Längsrichtung verschiebbaren Schlitten auf, der mit dem Unterliek eines Großsegels verbunden ist. Das Großsegel ist als Stagsegel ausgebildet und an einem Stag geführt, welches die Mastspitze mit dem Hinterende des Schlittens verbindet. Ein gelenkiger Anschluß der beiden Schlitten an einen mittig zwischen den beiden Masten angeordneten Drehpunkt mittels Schubstangen gibt die Möglichkeit, die Baumverlängerung und Baumverkürzung mittels des Schlittens zwangszusteuern.
