[origin: US4652046A] The invention relates to a retractable chair adapted to be folded from its active position in which the back and the leg elements are substantially in vertical position, the seat (buttocks support) being in horizontal position, towards a compact, retracted position, characterized in that the seat and the back are articulated on each other and are foldable to occupy retracted positions (folded one against the other) along adjacent, parallel planes, the seat and the back are furthermore fast with lateral leg elements themselves mounted to pivot on a lower support or box, the fact of pivoting the leg elements taking the chair constituted by the back, the seat and the leg elements in parallel horizontal planes brought substantially to floor level. The invention is more particularly applicable to equipping halls which may be used empty with a bare floorboard, or filled with rows of chairs.

L'invention concerne un siège effaçable et repliable. Plus particulièrement l'invention concerne un ensemble siège effaçable par repli depuis sa position active dans laquelle le dossier (2) et le piétement (3, 3') sont sensiblement en position verticale, le siège (1) (support du fessier) étant en position horizontale, vers une position compactée et effacée, et caractérisée en ce que le siège (1) et le dossier (2) sont articulés entre eux et sont repliables pour occuper des positions d'effacement (repliés l'un contre l'autre) selon des plans voisins et parallèles, le siège et le dossier sont en outre montés solidaires d'un piétement (3, 3') lui-même monté à pivotement sur un support inférieur (9), le pivotement du piétement amenant l'ensemble siège formé par le piétement, le dossier et le siège dans des plans parallèles horizontaux et ramenés sensiblement au niveau du sol. Application à l'équipement de salles de réunions utilisable en plancher nu et dégagé ou garnies de rangées de sièges.
