[origin: EP0174501A2] The object is achieved by dividing the bending moment acting on the central, adjustable roll (rupture on the inner edge of the section) into a tensile component and a compressive component. Seated on a tool carrier rigidly connected to the adjustable roll 3 or its carriage is a bracket (9) which carries a guiding element 10 matched to the section 7 in shape and material. By prestressing the guiding element 10 by means of the adjusting screw 12, it is possible to bring the point of action of the bending moment as close as possible to the neutral zone of the section 10. The device can be attached to any suitable bending or rolling machine. <IMAGE>
