[origin: EP0174592A2] An anode for the electrolysis of zinc from aqueous solution, in which only the lead anode sheet immersed in the electrolyte contains silver, whereas the top part connected to the supporting rod is silver-free, its manufacture being carried out by casting, extruding or rolling the silver-containing anode sheet part and connecting it to the supporting rod by means of a cast-on head piece. On the other hand, the silver-containing anode sheet part can be connected to a finished head piece with supporting rod by casting-on with molten lead or by soldering on. <IMAGE>
