Abstract (en)

[origin: WO8504310A1] Label transferring apparatus (10) useable for in-mold label application comprising a transfer device (16) mounted on a pivotable radial arm (18), said transfer device (16) having two pairs of transfer heads (40, 42) mounted for rapid, reciprocal transverse movement. A stack of labels (L) is supplied by corresponding pairs of magazines (19, 20) located at a first radial position. The radial arm (18) is positioned by a fluid actuated rack (28) and pinion (29) mechanism. In another embodiment, a transfer device (16') is mounted on a linear actuator (10') having a piston rod (18') extending out a first end and carrying said label transfer device (16') and extending out the other end whereat it is supported on a track means (33', 35'). A stack of labels (L) is supplied by corresponding two pairs of magazines (19, 20) located at the first position. In a further embodiment, the linear actuator (210') is mounted so as to be cantilevered back over the forward end of the piston (223') and cylinder (224') which comprises the linear actuator (210'). In this embodiment, the piston (223') and cylinder (224') may be shortened by excluding that portion of the piston rod (218') extending out the other end of said cylinder (224').
